Terms & Conditions

The promoters are Love Logs Ltd (company no. 2663961) whose registered office is at Anglo House, Stourport-on-Severn, DY13 9AW and Kadai Ltd (company no. 07569225) whose registered office is at Home Farm, Leebotwood, Church Stretton, Shropshire, England, SY6 6LX

 

Love Logs Ltd and Kadai Ltd staff will not be eligible to enter. Family & friends of the staff of Love Logs Ltd, Kadai Ltd, or our hosts & judging panel for the live event, are not eligible to enter.
 
The semi-finalists will be chosen by Love Logs Ltd & Kadai Ltd, whose decision is final. Feedback will not be given for individual entrants who do not make the semi-final.

 

You must be over the age of 18 to enter.

 

The competition will close at 23.59 on 7th July 2024. After this date, no further entries to the competition will be permitted or accepted.

 

Entry is either via Facebook/Instagram or by online form, using the process described above to create a shortlist of 15 entrants which will be put to the public vote.

The finalists will be the 3 entrants with the most public votes, taken via the websites of Love Logs Ltd, Kadai Ltd and The British Live Fire Cooking Championship website. By voting, all voters are agreeing to the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy as stated on this website. They are also agreeing to be signed up to the mailing lists of Kadai LTD, Love Logs LTD and LUDLOW MARCHES FOOD AND DRINK FESTIVAL.

 

Entrants must be available and have the means to travel to Ludlow on 13th September 2024 and stay until 15th September 2024, and free and able to travel via plane to Indianapolis, USA on 6th November 2024 and return 13th November 2024.All entrants agree for Kadai Ltd and Love Logs Ltd to repurpose content submitted or posted in regards to the competition. The winner is responsible for ensuring they meet all entry requirements for the USA, and for sourcing and financing their own visa or ESTA where necessary.

 

Finalists must commit to using the World Food Championship ‘golden ticket’ and registering to enter the World Food Championship in Indiana 2024, flying to the USA and cooking in the competition, should they win the British Live Fire Cooking Championships.

 

Where a finalist is not able to attend the event from 13th – 15th September in Ludlow, or the World Food Championship in Indiana from 6th – 13th November, they will be immediately disqualified and replaced with the entrant with the next highest number of votes.

 

Finalists must follow all competition rules listed in the “The Rules” section below. Any finalist breaking any of these rules during the competition will be disqualified with immediate effect. Finalists must practise good food hygiene and ensure that all entries are safe for the judges to eat. All meat must be cooked to at least the minimum safe temperature as advised according to government food safety guidelines https://www.foodsafety.gov/food-safety-charts/safe-minimum-internal-temperatures

The Rules

· Each finalist can invite one assistant to help them cook in the final

· There will be three sessions across the weekend, each with a different theme. Finalists must cook a dish based on the theme in or on a Kadai using Love Logs wood or charcoal.

· One finalist will be eliminated after the second session, leaving two to cook in Sunday’s final battle.

· Finalists will have 15 minutes to heat their Kadai, then either 30 or 60 minutes to cook and present their dish, depending on the round.

· The entire dish must be made from scratch during the session and ingredients must be sealed until the time starts – nothing can be pre-marinaded , pre-cut etc.

· The dish must be presented on the serving platter provided by Love Logs and Kadai, with three individual portions separated for the judges.

· Judges will score out of 10 based on various criteria which will be provided prior to the competition.

· Scores for Friday and Saturday will be added together and the finalist with the lowest score at this point will leave the competition.

· On Sunday, scores will be added together for each of the three sessions and the cook with the highest will be crowned the British Live Fire Cooking Champion and given a ‘golden ticket’ for the World Food Championships, USA, 2024.

 

No cash alternative to any of the prizes will be offered.

 

The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

 

In reference to prizes, ‘a year’s supply’ refers to one Fuel Kit every quarter for the next year.

 

The promoters’ decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

All finalists agree to the use of their name and social media handle in any publicity material by Love Logs Ltd, Kadai Limited and Ludlow Food Festival.

All entrants consent to their data being used by Kadai Ltd, Love Logs Ltd and Ludlow Marches Food and Drink Festival and to be added to each mailing list.

 

Finalists agree to be photographed and videoed throughout the weekend at Ludlow Food Festival and throughout the World Food Championships in the USA. All photos and videos will be the property of Kadai Ltd and Love Logs Limited and can be used in any publicity material.

 

Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party (with no relation to the competition) without the entrant’s prior consent.

 

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram or any other social network.

 

Love Logs Limited and Kadai Ltd reserve the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the case of any event outside of the promoter’s control.

 

Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
