We have some amazing personalities judging this years British Live Fire Cooking Championships

Sam & Shauna

Sam and Shauna are fire chefs, street food pioneers and restaurateurs in the world of outdoor cooking. Since starting their BBQ brand ‘Hang Fire’ in 2013, they have become renowned for their expertise in American BBQ, winning numerous awards for their creative approach. As judges for our competition, they bring their passion, energy, and expertise, which they showcase on their BBC TV show, ‘Sam & Shauna’s Big Cookout.

Genevieve Taylor

Genevieve Taylor is a renowned live fire chef, and the author of 13 cookery books, including bestsellers like Seared and Charred. As a biologist by training, she emphasizes sustainability and seasonality, focusing on cooking seafood over live fire. As a judge for our competition, Genevieve brings her extensive knowledge and passion for live fire cooking, which she shares through her Bristol Fire School and BBC Food Programme appearances.

Kate Humble

Kate Humble is a writer and broadcaster. Her television series include Escape to the Farm, Britain’s Best Coastal Walks, Back to the Land, Animal Park, Lambing Live, Springwatch, Living with Nomads & Wild Shepherdess. She also presented the award-winning comedy game show Wild Things, wildlife quiz Curious Creatures and has made guest appearances on Would I Lie to You, 8 out of 10 Cats & Countdown.

 

She is the author of six books including Where the Hearth Is: Stories of Home, Homecooked: Recipes From the Farm, A Year of Living Simply and Thinking on My Feet: The Small Joys of Putting One Foot in Front of The Other (Shortlisted for the Wainwright Prize and the Stanford Travel Writing Award). She has been a columnist for The Telegraph, The Radio Times, and Country Smallholding and regularly writes on wildlife, rural affairs, travel and wellbeing for various publications. Her new cook book Homemade is out in October.

 

She is the founder of Humble by Nature, a rural skills and artisan business centre on her farm in Monmouthshire, is president of WWT, ambassador for Farms for City Children and the Whitley Fund for Nature. She’s also a qualified commercial diver. If you need barnacles removing from the bottom of your boat, she’s your girl.
