The World Food Championships is the largest competition in Food Sport, where culinary competitors of previous events convene for a chance at winning the ultimate food crown and a share of hundreds of thousands of dollars in prize money.

What are the World Food Championships?

Since its debut in 2012, the WFC has given birth to 30+ TV food stars, awarded more than 3 million in prize money, garnered more than 10 billion media impressions, and connected 175+ food brands with food fans, food bloggers, and food media.

In short, it has given birth to “Food Sport” by providing a level playing field, a fair judging system, a creative culinary fest, and a process that allows the culinary elite to show off their talent and earn the respect they deserve.

Nowhere in the culinary landscape is the spirit of culinary passion, product integration and foodie engagement more alive than at the World Food Championships, where the world’s most creative food champions are at the heart of everything.

What to Expect

Adam Purnell

Competed in 2023

Well, it was an experience let’s just say! I learned a huge amount about competitive cooking, food sport as they call it. It was intense!

There’s a lot of people involved, I think there were 200 teams across all the categories, and obviously it’s overseas so you’re competing with people from the US – one of our biggest challenges was sourcing ingredients over there that we use regularly over here. But it was incredible to be a part of the whole thing, it was a mad experience, and I learned an awful lot about how to compete. I want to give everything I learned to our champion so they have the advantage of my experience
